Your prompt stays in your browser — unless you choose the deep audit.
The short version: instant audits run in your browser and nothing is stored. Nothing is stored unless you choose to share. We never use your prompts to train anything, and we never sell your data.
CEPrompts has two audit modes, and they handle your prompt differently. Being clear about the difference matters, so here it is plainly.
Instant check (the default): runs entirely on your device. When you paste a prompt and run the instant audit, the text is checked by JavaScript in your own browser. It is never sent to a server, never stored, and never logged. Close the tab and it's gone.
Deep audit (optional, AI-powered): to evaluate meaning rather than structure, this mode sends your prompt to Anthropic's API to be graded. This is necessary — an AI model has to read the prompt to judge it. The prompt is processed for grading and is not stored by us; its handling on Anthropic's side is governed by Anthropic's own data policies. If you want zero transmission, use the instant check, which never leaves your browser.
What we collect
Prompts from the instant check: nothing. They never leave your browser.
Prompts from the deep audit: sent to Anthropic's API for grading, not stored by us. We keep only a per-day count tied to your IP address to enforce the daily deep-audit limit — no prompt content is kept.
Shared links (Share with team): if you click Share with team, we store the results — score, level, pass/fail per component, and any title you type — and return a private, unlisted link (not indexed, not in any public gallery). If you additionally tick "include the prompt text," your prompt is stored too and shown on that link. That checkbox is off by default: unless you tick it, the prompt is never stored. Anyone with the link can view whatever it contains, so only share it with people you'd show the prompt to.
Analytics: the site uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic — which pages are visited and how often. It uses cookies and collects standard web analytics data (such as approximate location and device type), but it does not capture any prompt content. You can block it with any standard ad/tracker blocker.
Fonts: the page loads fonts from Google Fonts, which may see your IP address as part of serving them. This is standard for most websites and unrelated to your prompt content.
What we don't do
- No accounts, no login, no passwords.
- No storage of your prompt text — in any mode, including the deep audit and publishing.
- No selling or sharing of data with third parties.
- No advertising — we don't show ads or sell your data.
Shared links (opt-in)
After an audit you can click Share with team to create a private, unlisted link — it is not indexed by search engines and does not appear in any public gallery. By default the link stores and shows only the results: score, trust level, pass/fail per component, and an optional title. You can also tick "include the prompt text," which additionally stores your prompt and displays it on the link — this is off by default and only happens if you choose it. If you never click Share with team, nothing is stored at all. Anyone who has a shared link can view its contents, so treat it accordingly.
If this changes
If we add features that send or store more of your data, they will be clearly labelled, opt-in where possible, and this page will be updated to explain exactly what is sent and why. The instant in-browser check will always remain available as the zero-transmission option.
